Mendocino Farms2005 Heart Arrow Cabernet SauvignonOur 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from grapes grown on the Heart Arrow Ranch, located at 1700’ elevation on the northern hillsides of the Ukiah Valley at the headwaters of the Russian River in Mendocino County, California. Heart Arrow Ranch is certified Biodynamic® by Demeter indicating the grapes are farmed to the highest levels of quality.
We selected only the finest lots of Cabernet Clone 337 from the 2005 harvest to be included in this varietal bottling. High quality new French oak barrels were used for aging and separate lots were blended prior to bottling according to our tastes.
The Redvine soils of the Heart Arrow Ranch are consistent with our other high elevation vineyard sites in the Ukiah Valley and provide a unique terroir that is increasingly recognized for producing wines of distinction. Redvine soils are high in iron, reddish in color, gravely and well-drained.
Our 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon shows uncommon depth, rich color, and exhibits aromatic and flavor profiles of dark fruit, mocha and spice. This wine is produced in a style that will allow for continued development over time or with decanting.
